Jerry Hubbell, Founding Member and VP of MSRO Science, Inc., Assistant Director of the Mark Slade Remote Observatory (MSRO) and VP Engineering for Explore Scientific, LLC., has been an amateur astronomer since the 1970s.
As the leader of the MSRO Science team, he recently became a member of the NASA Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Follow up Working Group (TFOP WG) SG1 Seeing-Limited Group. For more than 10 years, he has been working with advanced amateur astronomical equipment, and has written two books about scientific imaging and remotely operated observatories, Scientific Astrophotography (Springer 2012) and Remote Observatories for Amateur Astronomers (Springer 2015).
Jerry has been with Explore Scientific since 2013 and is the developer and principal engineer for the PMC-Eight™ Robotic Mount Control System. He also serves as a staff member of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers (ALPO) as the Assistant Coordinator for Lunar Topographical Studies, Lunar Section.
Jerry is retired from the nuclear utility industry with nearly 40 years’ experience as a nuclear instrumentation and controls, and computer systems engineer. He is an active astronomer whose principal interests are high-resolution lunar imaging, minor planet observing, and observing exoplanet transits.
